• A 30% deposit is required at least 3 weeks before your trekto secure your Mount Kilimanjaro trekking reservation, and the deposit is non-refundable once your booking has been confirmed.

• Pay the Rest Later: The remaining 70% balance is due when you arrive in Tanzania before your trek begins.

• Accepted Arrival Payments: Cash (USD printed after 2013) in large bills, Tanzanian shillings or money transfer. 

​To properly prepare for your Kilimanjaro expedition, we require a non-refundable 30% deposit at least three weeks before your scheduled departure date. This deposit is not simply a reservation fee—it allows us to secure and pay for the essential services and resources needed for your trek.

Your deposit helps us:

• Secure your spot on the expedition so we can finalize your place in the trekking group.

• Reserve and make down payments on rental gear that may be needed for your climb.

• Pay required National Park fees and other permits associated with your Kilimanjaro trek.

• Secure transportation for airport transfers, transportation to and from the mountain, and other necessary logistics.

• Reserve lodging before and after the trek as needed.

• Prepare meals and supplies for the duration of your expedition, including purchasing food and organizing the necessary provisions for the mountain.

The three-week timeframe is important because many of these arrangements need to be confirmed and paid for in advance. Preparing a safe and successful Kilimanjaro expedition requires careful coordination of guides, transportation, accommodations, park access, equipment, food, and other logistics.

Your 30% non-refundable deposit allows us to commit the necessary resources to your expedition and ensure everything is prepared before you arrive. Before beginning your Mount Kilimanjaro trek, you must have specialized travel insurance that explicitly covers high-altitude trekking up to at least 6,000 meters (19,685 feet).

Your policy must also include emergency medical evacuation, including helicopter evacuation where available and medically necessary, as well as coverage for emergency medical treatment.

Standard travel insurance policies may not cover high-altitude trekking or evacuation from remote mountain areas. For this reason, it is your responsibility to make sure your insurance specifically covers the activities and altitude involved in your Kilimanjaro expedition.

Proof of appropriate insurance coverage may be required before you begin the climb. Please carefully review your policy or contact your insurance provider to confirm that Kilimanjaro trekking and high-altitude emergency evacuation are covered.

Having the right insurance is an important part of preparing for a safe and responsible Kilimanjaro adventure.

• For most international travelers, a visa is required to enter Tanzania. The cost is generally around $100 USD, although fees and visa requirements can vary depending on your nationality and type of visa.

• We strongly recommend applying for your Tanzanian visa online approximately one month before your scheduled departure. Applying early gives the Tanzanian immigration authorities enough time to review and process your application and helps prevent unnecessary delays or complications before your Kilimanjaro expedition.

• Please make sure your passport is valid for the required period and that you apply using the appropriate visa process for your nationality.
